Coppin Repertory Theatre presents BEST OF ENEMIES by Mark St. Germain
Inspired by the bestselling book by Osha Gray Davidson, BEST OF ENEMIES is a poignant drama by Mark St. Germain. It is based on a true story about the relationship between C. P. Ellis, a Grand Cyclops of the Klu Klux Klan, and Ann Atwater, an outspoken civil rights activist, who co-chaired a community summit in 1971 to desegregate the public schools in Durham, North Carolina. The play exposes the poison of prejudice in the hearts of Atwater and Ellis who, by facing each other, are forced to face the worst and best in themselves. Directed by Willie O. Jordan, BEST OF ENEMIES is presented as a co-production with McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. Performances at Coppin are scheduled September 18-22 in the Black Box Theatre, located on the Lower Level of the Grace Jacobs Building.
